What it checks
We fetch /llms.txt on the checked origin. We record whether it exists, whether it is served as plain text rather than an HTML catch-all page, whether it has content, and a hash of that content so daily monitoring can tell you when it changes.
Why it matters for search engines
Search engines do not use llms.txt. This check is about a different audience.
Why it matters for AI assistants
llms.txt is a proposal for a Markdown file at a well-known path that gives language-model tools a short, curated index of a site: what it is and which pages matter. It is a proposal, not a standard, and support varies by tool. It costs one small file, and the same index is useful to any reader.
How to fix it
Publish /llms.txt as text/plain Markdown: an H1 with the site name, a one-paragraph summary, then a list of the key pages with one line each. Keep it short and keep it current.
