Terms of service

1. Who we are

quietwatch is operated by Kunal Pravin Barve (sole proprietorship), India.

2. Acceptance

By using quietwatch you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you use the service on behalf of a company or a client, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

3. The service

quietwatch checks a website from the outside, over HTTP, the way a browser or a crawler sees it. It requests the page you name, the files robots.txt, sitemap.xml and llms.txt, the sitemap that robots.txt declares, and script files the page itself references. It never logs in, never guesses paths and never changes anything on a site. The Pro plan adds daily checks of the sites you register, history, and email alerts when a result changes.

A result link from the free checker can be opened by anyone who has it. The location of a leaked secret is never shown on a public link. Results from the free checker are deleted 30 days after the check; write to us to have one removed sooner.

4. Accounts

The instant checker needs no account. A Pro account is opened with an email address you control, by a sign-in link we email you; there is no password. You are responsible for what is done with the account: keep sign-in links to yourself, sign out of shared devices, and use "Sign out everywhere" if you think someone else has access. One account is for one organisation; you may register up to the number of sites your plan allows and, once the feature is available, add as many alert recipients as you need. A new account has no plan until you start the 7-day Pro trial or subscribe. One trial per person, and a site monitored on a trial cannot be put on another account's trial within 90 days.

5. Acceptable use

• Only check or monitor sites you own, manage or have permission to check. Checking a site once is ordinary use; monitoring a site you have no relationship with is not what the service is for.
• Do not use the checker to load, probe or overwhelm a site. The free checker is limited to 5 checks an hour per address. Pro instant checks are unlimited within fair use, which means the crawler's politeness rules, not your plan, set the pace.
• Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, robots.txt handling, or the redaction of security findings on public links, and do not resell the service or present its results as your own product without our written agreement.
• Do not use the service for anything unlawful or to harm a third party's site.

We may suspend or close an account used against these terms after notice, or immediately if the use is causing harm to a third party's site.

6. Payments

Pro subscriptions are sold and billed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. Dodo Payments is the seller of record, collects payment, applies any taxes due and issues your invoices; its terms apply to the payment itself. Prices are shown before you subscribe and are charged in advance, monthly or annually, until you cancel. The 7-day trial needs a card on file and charges $0 at the start. Unless you cancel before it ends, the subscription renews automatically at the price shown when you started it ($29 a month or $279 a year), charged on day 8, and then each period until you cancel. We email you two days before the first charge. Cancel before the trial ends, in the billing portal, and nothing is charged; the account then becomes read-only and nothing is deleted. The free founding tier needs no card.

7. Founding pricing

The first 20 accounts to claim a founding spot get Pro at a founding price: five spots each at $9, $14, $19 and $24 a month. Spots are claimed in that order, one per account, and the counts shown on the pricing page are read from our records.

• Locked for life means the price of your founding tier never rises while the subscription stays active. If the subscription is cancelled, lapses for non-payment or is refunded, the founding price ends; subscribing again later is at the normal price then in force. Founding tiers are billed monthly; the annual plan is not part of the ladder.
• Granted free spots. We may grant a free founding spot by hand to an agency we offered one directly. A granted spot is full Pro at no charge for as long as the account stays active and in use; an account with no monitored sites for 90 days may be returned to the normal plan after notice by email.
• A founding spot is personal to the account that claimed it and cannot be transferred or sold.

8. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from the billing page. Access continues until the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds are described in the refund policy.

9. Changes to the service and prices

Checks can be added, changed or removed, and thresholds tuned, as crawlers and standards change. We may change prices; a price change is announced to Pro customers by email at least 14 days before it takes effect and applies from your next renewal. A founding price is not changed while that subscription stays active.

10. Disclaimers

The checks are passive, run from one location, and read only what a crawler can read. They can miss problems, and a result that says nothing needs attention is not a guarantee that nothing does. Use the results as one input to your own judgement. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability, to the extent the law allows.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from the service. Our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the bottom of this page changes when we do, and material changes are announced to Pro customers by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without affecting any protection you have under the consumer law of the country where you live.
